Backstage Safety

It is important for all of us to work together to ensure safety and security at Broadway Performance Hall.

  • It is unsafe to prop open doors or let people in through any doors other than the main entrance.
  • Be aware – very close to the Green Room entrance there is a door to the outside. It is crucial that we make sure this door is fully shut and locked at all times. Please take note when you pass this door.
  • Because there have been prior incidents of theft, please do not leave items unattended in the hallways and backstage or common areas.
  • Although Moisture Festival endeavors to have a volunteer attendant present in the Green Room during performances, the room may sometimes be empty. Please do not leave valuables left out in the Green Room. If you have items that require additional security, please talk to the Production Manager.
  • All Moisture Festival personnel will be given badges – please wear them at all times (when not performing). Guests will be given ‘Fest Guest’ stickers that they must wear someplace visible while backstage.
  • If you see someone without a badge or a ‘Fest Guest’ sticker, please alert Moisture Festival or Broadway Performance Hall staff immediately.
Performer Seating
  • Unfortunately, there is not enough room to watch the show from the wings.
  • Depending on availability, there may be seats available (and labeled) in the house, near exits, for performers to use. These seats will not be available if the show is sold out.
  • Please check with the House Manager if you have questions about availability
  • There will be monitors in the Green Room, Lobby, and Hospitality Suite with a livestream of the show.
Backstage Guests
  • Due to limited space, backstage and Green Room access is restricted to those participants who are performing and/or working during a specific show.
  • We appreciate your consideration when making a decision on whether or not to invite children, partners, or friends to visit you backstage. More people in the Green Room may limit other artists’ ability to warm up or have privacy to prepare for their performance.
    • Broadway Performance Hall has two large lobbies with lots of room to visit. You can meet your guests in the lobby after the show to catch up.
    • If you have a guest and would like them to see the show, please review our Comp Tickets Policies and Procedures for more information.

If you do require a backstage guest pass:

  •  You must sign your guest in with the Green Room Concierge and receive their ‘Fest Guest’ sticker
    • A ‘Fest Guest’ sticker is valid ONLY for the current performance.
    • Please note – we have a limited number of passes, so first priority is given to those who need to be backstage.
  • ‘Fest Guest’ stickers must be worn at all times in the theater, and placed somewhere visible on their body.
    • Anyone in the backstage / Green Room areas without a badge or ‘Fest Guest’ sticker may be asked to leave the premises.
  • A ‘Fest Guest’ sticker does not entitle guests to join the family meal after the show. If there are leftovers, the Food & Hospitality team may give permission for your guest to join at that time.

A BACKSTAGE GUEST PASS DOES NOT EQUAL A SEAT IN THE THEATER FOR THE SHOW & A COMP TICKET DOES NOT EQUAL A BACKSTAGE GUEST PASS.

  • If you want your guest to have a seat for the show and have access to the backstage, you will need both.
  • See Comp Ticket Policies & Procedures for info on getting your guest a seat in the theater. Anyone seated in the theater must have a ticket (either paid or a comp ticket).
  • There is no standing room at Broadway Performance Hall.
Alcohol Policy

Under current Washington State liquor laws, no alcohol will be provided to Moisture Festival performers, volunteers, and staff while they are working a show.  During the family style meal on show days, alcohol may be served for folks 21 years or older in the dining room only.

Smoking

Smoking and vaping is not allowed inside the building or within 50 feet from any entrance point.

Animals

Broadway Performance Hall strictly prohibits any animal or bird, including animal performers or pets, other than service animals, to be brought into the theater, backstage or anywhere else in the building.
