Our longtime friend Rudi Galindo of Los Payasos Mendigos has now returned from Belgium with a friend and fellow performer Lisa da Boit … and they arrive with a new name, Teatro Pachuco!
Together their show has been referred to as one part Fellini, two parts Chaplin with a Latin twist of acrobatic dexterity. Their struggle is often one against uncooperative objects that are anything but inanimate: hats hover in mid-air, newspapers become masks, children just may disappear (and then return). It’s a silent movie world that seems to exist near the border between dream and reality. Magic without tricks, poetry without words. We’re so happy to welcome them to Seattle’s Moisture Festival.
