2022 Moisture Festival: Opening March 17

The full name of this is ‘Out of the Blue: An American Sign Language Dance Theater Production’ based on the song from Andrew Lippa’s WILD PARTY.’

It will be performed by Bailey Anne Vincent and Brandon Kazen-Maddox.

Bailey Anne is a dancer.

She is also a dancer with a host of medical problems including deafness and cystic fibrosis; a life-threatening condition that results in breathing problems … not a condition that typically helps dancers but one that has inspired Ms. Vincent to reach higher, for herself and for the dancers that she works with in the company that she formed two years ago in Fredericksburg, Virginia: Company 360, a company that describes itself as “… a professional performing arts company that strives to think outside itself. We believe in art that doesn’t discriminate.”

Brandon Kazen-Maddox is a dancer and describes what he does this way: “Professionally, I move through space as a circus acrobat, working in various companies throughout the Bay Area and teaching acrobatics to youth and adults.”

He is also a freelance American Sign Language Interpreter for the deaf and hard-of-hearing and for this collaboration with Bailey Anne, their first time at the Moisture Festival, he’ll meld the intricate emotions of American Sign Language, the kinesthetic dynamics of rhythm and dance and the percussive qualities of high-energy acrobatics together.

We can hardly wait!
