Jean Wildest is a Chicago-based choreographer and performance artist with a focus in burlesque, hip hop, and circus arts. They have been performing as a burlesque soloist and group artist for over eight years. Jean got their start with Gorilla Tango Burlesque, where they choreographed three full-length productions: “A Game of Thongs,” “Great Scott Those are Boobs: A Back to the Future Burlesque,” and “Stranger Thongs.” Since the closure of GTB in 2017, Jean has been performing solo work all across Chicago. They began touring the US as a soloist in 2018. Their first headlining role was in 2020 through Mercury Stardust’s show Five Star Tease.
Jean is a former member of Boylesque at Charlie’s Bar, a former Haus member of BAD TASTE Chicago, and a current artistic associate of PS…Burlesque. In 2019, Jean choreographed PS…Burlesque’s full length production, Dorothy Does Oz, for which they were nominated in The Chicago Reader as Best Choreographer of the Year. They are a 2022 graduate of the Actors Gymnasium’s Professional Circus Training Program with a major in lyra and minor in chair acrobatics.
