Giuseppe Boppi, also known as Seattle’s favorite Italian chain-smoking clown, is a neo-burlesque, drag, and performance artist. His artistic style draws heavily from early 20th-century vaudeville, golden-age European cabaret, and the lush drama of vintage Italian cinema: resulting in performances that feel like short films unfolding live on stage.

Giuseppe is thrilled to bring their act “Smoke Break” to Moisture festival this year. With a cigarette poised between fingers, he doesn’t just light up the stage, he is the spark, teasing like smoke in low light and proving he knows how to handle a long, slow drag. When Giuseppe isn’t serving slapstick silhouettes, he is also known as the glittery and bold Gigi Bop. Gigi is not simply a drag persona, she is Giuseppe’s technicolor fever dream. Performing both as himself and as his femme alter ego Gigi Bop, Giuseppe explores duality and spectacle through acts that merge sensuality with satire. Giuseppe is here to make you laugh, blush, and believe that even a sad clown can dream of becoming a Hollywood star one striptease at a time.
