Heather came to circus later in life. She’d just had two kids and needed something that was just for her. Heather took her first circus class as a way to reconnect with her body and was immediately hooked. For many years, as she raised young kids, circus was a beloved hobby. And then the pandemic hit. Like all of us, Heather hunkered down, homeschooled her kids, started a pottery business (she makes the cutest little boob mugs! (Check them out at verdurepottery.com), and reevaluated her whole existence. As we all started to crawl out of our holes after the pandemic, Heather had decided she wanted to turn her hobby into a profession. Heather wasn’t going to let her meandering journey deter her from finally getting to where she wanted to go. We can fast forward through more years of training, performing in showcases whenever she could and most importantly, there is no “about Heather” to be had without acknowledging the incredible mentorship of aerialist/choreographer/costume-maker/artist Elena Brocade, who, at every turn, said “you can do it.” And now, here’s where she’s at: Heather has been a cast member of Cirque De Boheme, the cutest little circus in Sonoma, competed in VIVA Fest, performed in an ensemble at Ebb & Flow Dance Festival and swung from the trees at Theatricum Botanicum the last several years. And now she’s at Moisture Festival. She’s making it happen! Dreams do come true. Heather is, indeed, Feeling Good. Thanks for watching.
